A Query With The Sun

The Sun came out to say hell and I smiled up at him.
He stooped low to kiss my cheek and I stepped back and smiled up at him.
He stopped, frowned and said to me "Oh sister of silk, why is that you move away from me?"
I smiled and touched his cheek in apology, "it's not you I move away from, but rather your love for me."
Not finding solace he questioned again, frown deepening, "why is it that you move away from me?"
I sighed and said with a shake of my head "you see I'm in love with him."
He asked me with a gentle hurt in his voice, "what is in him but not in me?"
I smiled softly, privately, gazing past him my eyes lost in the past, and answered with a hushed respect,
"where you have many admirers who adore you for your many deeds.. Good and bad, he has few who see how a world without him would be"
"But a world without me could not exist" argued the Sun "I make the plants grow, so the animals can grow, so you can grow"
I laughed in delight and agreed with a "yes" "but what does a fisherman's daughter care for that?
"He is not everyone's prince.. but he is your's, fisherman's daughter" The sun stated
"Yes dear sun he is.." I turned in farewell but the Sun said "Wait" So I waited
He moved around to face me and with a hundred questions in his eyes he asked me only one.
"Who is he?"
"He glows modestly shedding light to the good but not displacing the dark"
"He turns the tide and wakes the least understood creatures"
"He makes brides beam and fills grooms' eyes with love"
"Who is he?" he asked growing weary of my adoration for another man
I laughed and said with both my hand over my heart
"He who has one my affection?"
"Yes Yes" cried the Sun
I looked up at the sky at the one who took the Suns place
and said in a whisper.. "The Moon"
